One-Time vs Recurring Cleaning in Calgary: Which Fits?
One-time cleaning vs recurring cleaning in Calgary comes down to how you live. A one-time visit resets a home that needs a big refresh, while a recurring schedule keeps it that way for less per hour. The more often you book, the lower your hourly rate.
Calgary homes work hard. Long winters mean boots, salt and grit tracked in for months, the dry air and chinook winds keep fine dust circulating, and spring melt brings its own mess through the front door. That is why many families end up asking whether a single cleaning is enough or whether a regular schedule makes more sense.
One-time cleaning vs recurring cleaning in Calgary: how do you choose?
Start with the reason you are calling. If something specific is coming up, such as guests, a move or the end of a busy season, a single visit does the job. If you are tired of the same weekly chaos, a recurring visit takes it off your list for good.
Choose a one-time cleaning if...
You are getting ready for guests, a holiday or a home showing.
The house has not been cleaned in a while and you want a fresh start.
You are moving in or out, or finishing a renovation, and need a deeper clean.
You only want to try the service before deciding on a schedule.
Choose a recurring cleaning if...
You want a steady baseline so dust and grime never build up.
Your weekends keep disappearing into housework.
You have kids, pets or a busy work week and the mess returns fast.
You would like the same service on a predictable day without rebooking each time.
How much does each option cost in Calgary?
Pricing follows the hourly rates on our Calgary page. The rate depends on how often you book, and every service has a three-hour minimum. Prices are before taxes.
How often | Hourly rate |
|---|---|
Weekly | $35 per hour |
Every 2 weeks | $43 per hour |
Monthly | $46 per hour |
Occasional (one-time) | $52 per hour |
Deep cleaning | $52 per hour |
A regular cleaning starts at $105, which is the three-hour minimum at the weekly rate, and deep cleaning starts at $280. Extra time is only added with your approval, and there is a $15 fee if your home is outside the service zone.
The pattern is simple: the same cleaner doing the same visit costs more per hour when it is a one-off than when it is part of a schedule. A recurring plan is usually the better value if you will clean at least once a month anyway.
What does each visit actually cover?
A regular visit, whether it is one-time or recurring, covers the kitchen and dining room, bathrooms, bedrooms and floors throughout the home. Think appliance exteriors, counters, sinks, toilets, showers, mirrors, dusting and washed floors. You can see the full room-by-room list on the what is included page.
A deep cleaning goes further. It adds the walls in the kitchen and bathrooms, the inside and outside of appliances, and the inside of tables and counters. It is a popular first visit before moving to a recurring plan, or a stand-alone reset after a long winter.
Special tasks such as the inside of the oven and fridge, window edges and interiors, the patio door and inside cabinets are included at no extra cost, but they must be requested in advance. Tell us when you book so they can be planned into your visit.
Is a recurring cleaning schedule worth it?
For most busy households, yes. A regular visit keeps surfaces from building up grime, so each cleaning is lighter and more predictable. You also stop spending evenings and weekends on bathrooms and floors.
Recurring service is not for everyone. If your schedule changes constantly or you only need a clean a few times a year, occasional bookings keep you flexible. Changes and cancellations are free up to 24 hours before your service.

Frequently asked questions
Is one-time cleaning cheaper than recurring cleaning?
The total for a single visit can be lower because you only book once, but the hourly rate is higher. Occasional visits are $52 per hour, compared with $35 per hour for weekly service.
Should I start with a deep cleaning before a recurring plan?
It is a good option if your home has not been cleaned in a while. Deep cleaning is $52 per hour and covers extras like kitchen and bathroom walls, so your regular visits can start from a fresh baseline.
Will a recurring cleaning take less time as weeks go by?
Many homes need less effort once heavy buildup is gone, but your quote is based on your home and the tasks you request, so the exact time depends on you.
Do I need to repeat special task requests every visit?
Special tasks like the oven, fridge or window edges must be requested in advance. Mention them when you book so they can be planned for the visit you want them done.
What if I do not like my regular cleaner?
Let us know. If you are not happy with a cleaner, we will send a new one at your next service.
Can I get a quote for both options?
Yes. Ask for a free quote and tell us whether you are comparing a one-time visit with weekly, every-two-weeks or monthly service.
